I hope this finds you well as things in the world start to take another strange turn.
This week I’d like to share the idea of speaking to people you admire as a way of learning and growing.
When Anthony and I started Hypnotic Healers Podcast, we did so with the idea of sharing our knowledge and experiences with people who have an interest in what hypnotic change work can do for them and to support practitioners in their journey by letting them know that we are all human, not perfect, make mistakes and have errors in judgement in our practices and businesses but we rise as we take the lessons from them.
Hypnotic Healers has taken a turn that I don’t think I imagined when we started this project. We have and continue to have guests from the industry from the lesser, more locally known to the world renowned and considered the best of the best in our industry. This weekend just gone we recorded with a man considered the best hypnotherapist alive.
I am sharing this with you not to brag but to encourage you to reach out to people you admire and would like to learn from. You might be surprised by just how generous and kind people are with their time, knowledge and wisdom if they feel that your intentions are pure and your gratitude is genuine.
Don’t get me wrong, I have reached out to Paul McKenna and Derren Brown but am yet to have a response!
Listening really is the key.
If you know how to listen to what someone is saying and take their wisdom for what it is – based on their own experiences, you open yourself up to learning, creating connections and who knows what else.
I have read & heard many times that you are a reflection of the 5 people you spend the most time with so choose your nearest and dearest wisely.
I am finding it true that the people I choose to speak to more often and allow myself to be bathed in their mindset, motivation and way of thinking, I find my own mind getting stronger and more sure of what I want and who I am, all the while feeling supported and knowing that I am doing what feels right to this current version of myself. This version is very different to the me of 2, 3 or 5 years ago and will also be very different from the me of next year and so forth. That’s OK. In fact, it’s worth celebrating.
- Who inspires you?
- Who’s work do you read, watch, engage with that lights your fire and sparks questions in your mind?
- How easy would it be to send them an email or a message asking to have a chat?
- How can you surround yourself with people and minds that inspire you to move forward in ways that feel good for you?
Like I said, I’ve reached out to a few very well known people with no response as yet – it’s no big deal. When the time is right I may get to talk to them, but I also may never get that chance. I’m ok with that. At least I know I’ve put it out there rather than held back ‘in case’. My reward; I got to record with one of my heroes 2 days ago and have opened up a line of communication and learning with him that I am extremely excited about and grateful for.
If you find that you hold yourself back get in touch and let’s have a chat about it.
Due to my new collaboration I have reduced my intake of individual clients to 5 per month. If you have been sitting on the fence, now’s the time to book a call with me and get started on your journey.
Love and blessings to you xx
